Watch as the Wings Beat Chapter 3

  The two people lead Six to down a hall to yet another room. The purple haired girl, who was standing next to Six, smiled kindly at Six. "Sorry if Pixius scared you at all... he's very... er, strange about his science, and he has only really had one success before you."
    Six gazed up at the girl. She wore a long, white coat like the others, but she wore large, awkward glasses that were tapped at the nose and her kept her long purple hair pony-tailed back. Six felt much more comfortable around this girl compared to the others, especially Pixius. "T-thank you," Six murmured.
    The girl smiled again. "I'm Tairia, in case you ever want to... see me..." Six smiled at Tairia and gently pulled on her sleeve.
    "O-okay"
    Tairia and the other white coated man lead Six into a room with a large bed-like table. They assisted her onto the large structure, and began to strap her down. Six started to panic, shaking even harder when she saw Tairia pick up a long needle. Tairia gazed sympathetically at Six, gently touching her shoulder.
    "Please don't be afraid. This is only meant to numb the pain. Pixius wanted us to do this without medication, but I felt like that was too horrible, don't you think?" She looked down, almost whispering, "Yet again... I don't want to do this at all..." She raised her voice again so Six could hear her. "Do you trust me?"
    Six looked at the needle again before flickering her eyes to Tairia, and nodded. Tairia smiled lightly, before injecting Six's arm with the medicine. Six felt the pinch from the shot, then instantly began to become sleepy.
    As she drifted out of consciousness, she barely made out something the white-coated man said to Tairia. "Too bad the angel has to loose her wings." Six wanted to stand and ask him what he meant, but the darkness was help its arms open to her, and it was so warm and inviting.

    Six felt her body suspended, yet her eyes would not open. She couldn't tell where she was, yet she felt as if someone was around. She could hear a very muffled voice, and she focus her hearing onto the distant voice, and suddenly it was as if it were next to her.
    "Hello? Is anyone there?! Please! Someone!! Anyone..." She heard the deep male voice resonating in her head, and finally realized that she was still unconscious.
    "H-hello? I am here. Who is this?" she called back.
    "Someone else! Thank goodness, I felt as if I was about to loose my mind completely. I don't know my name though... I really can't remember... I know that there are others around me, but I can't get them to speak to me... They keep calling me Subject Three...? I'm sorry, I'm just not sure..."
    "That's alright. I am Subject Six. I feel like you can't speak to them because they are awake... I am sleeping right now, you see."
    "That could be it... I was able to talk to someone else once, but she shut me out as soon as she discovered who I am. I believe she said her name was Spheria."
    Six was shocked. This Subject Three had spoken with Spheria, but she had instantly cut him off... For some reason, that small fact made Six feel extremely uncomfortable, but she was clueless as to why. She continued to speak, hopeful that Three hadn't picked up on her moment of hesitation. "Well, I am here for you now, and I promise, I will make sure that you are never alone again."
    "Thank you so much, Six... It's nice to know that now I have... a friend... It's so dark and scary here... but now I know I am no longer alone... Thank you..."
    Six began to hear voices around her, and quickly realized that she was waking up. She quickly called out to her new friend, worried to leave him alone again. "Three, I can't stay for much longer; they are waking me up. I promise I will come back, and I refuse to break this promise. I have to go."
    "Okay... thank you, Six. I'll be waiting for you."
   
    Six's eyes flickered, and she was awake again.
